Ferrari is showing growing optimism after a productive filming day at Monza, as attention now shifts toward the Miami Grand Prix weekend, which will provide the first real competitive test of the team’s latest SF-26 upgrade package.
Both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc completed Ferrari’s planned programme without any technical issues, successfully covering the required 200 kilometres. The focus of the run was not on lap times, which are not representative in filming day conditions, but on collecting detailed aerodynamic and systems data across a variety of configurations.
The Scuderia evaluated a range of updates, including visible changes such as revised wings and floor components, as well as more complex internal improvements. A key area of attention was energy management software, which has been identified as one of the factors limiting performance in the early part of the season for both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
All data gathered at Monza has been sent back to Maranello, where engineers are now comparing it with simulator correlations to verify how accurately the new package is behaving on track compared to expectations.
While performance metrics remain unclear, the mood inside the Ferrari garage was reportedly very positive.
